Fishing Report February 1, 2012
Conditions on the lake:
Fishing has definately changed since the beginning of the season. We are currenlty out 10 1/2 miles from Pine Island in 34 feet of water. Fishing has been pretty good seeing more Walleye's than Sauger's being caught. The Walleye's have been running from between 16 to 19 inches and with nice slot fish being caught. They are using glow red jigs or pink even or just a plain red hook.
For portables, this is an unusual year, you are able to drive anywhere on the lake. Take advantage of that and get away from all the people and fish away from the houses, better luck with this strategy than piling in all together.
We look forward to seeing you through another safe and joyous fishing season.
